June 14 – St. Eliséus (Elisha): Prophet of Trust
On June 14, the Church commemorates the prophet Eliséus , also known as Elisha , the successor of the prophet Elijah in the Old Testament. When Elijah was taken up to heaven, his mantle fell on Eliséus—a sign of the passing on of divine mission. Eliséus performed numerous miracles: He healed the sick, purified contaminated water, and fed many with little food.
His actions testify to a deep trust in God's work and a great concern for the common people. He is one of the most well-known prophets of the Old Testament , valued for his clarity and closeness to people's lives.
Eliséus is venerated as the patron saint of prophets, farmers and miraculous healing .
