Originally popularized through the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque , devotion to the Sacred Heart spread worldwide in the 19th century—with a particular focus on June to this day. The Sacred Heart reminds us that Christ encounters us with an open, suffering, and yet loving heart. Sacred Heart Fridays (every first Friday of the month) are especially inviting for Eucharist and silent adoration—ideal for uniting one's own heart with His.
