Saint Cecilia – patron saint of musicians (name day on November 22)

Saint Cecilia is considered the patron saint of musicians and music. Her feast day is celebrated every year on November 22nd and is a special event for all those connected with music. She is one of the Church's most well-known saints and is venerated in Christian tradition as a woman who, despite her difficult trials, never gave up her devotion to God and her love of music.

The Legend of Saint Cecilia

Legend tells us that Cecilia lived in Rome in the 2nd century and testified to her faith in Christ during her marriage to a pagan man. She was persecuted for her Christian faith and died a martyr. She is particularly famous, however, for her connection to music: It is said that during her wedding, she heard a heavenly concert that confirmed her connection to God and music as a divine art. Today, she is especially venerated by musicians.
