The Legend of Saint Cecilia
Legend tells us that Cecilia lived in Rome in the 2nd century and testified to her faith in Christ during her marriage to a pagan man. She was persecuted for her Christian faith and died a martyr. She is particularly famous, however, for her connection to music: It is said that during her wedding, she heard a heavenly concert that confirmed her connection to God and music as a divine art. Today, she is especially venerated by musicians.
